14. Nobody puts Baby in a corner - Dirty Dancing (1987)
15. Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night - All About Eve (1950)
Okay, who wins the prize??!
I got 8. I'm pretty impressed with myself that the ones I didn't know were from before I was born, or in the case of the first two, a year after, when I hadn't started watching movies yet.
ReplyDeletegood idea to post the answers ! :)
ReplyDeleteI had seen all but 8, 10, and 11, but only nailed six. No surprise there, since I do not watch scary movies. Jaws does not count, because the perpetrator was not human. I don't qualify for any prize, but I sure found the whole thing entertaining. I tried to whittle the stack down to top three, but the best is top four: 1, 2, 14, and 15. If held over a cliff by my ankles, I would rate Rod and Sidney's performances in "Heat" as my top choice. My favorite part was when the police chief asks Virgil Tibbs what he was called, "What DO they call, you, Boy? Vigil?" "THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS."
ReplyDeleteConsidering I only knew two? I don't get the prize.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhat of a movie junkie, but in my own criteria of movies, hehe, some of them (think Jaws and Psycho) ain't my type.
But some of these I think I need to catch up on!
You do .. for posting a brain teaser!
ReplyDeleteGood grief, not me!!!! I needed to have my hubby do this!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy movie knowledge is pretty dismal. There are a lot of recent "must-see" or "major" movies that I've never seen--and I've seen VERY few that were made before, say, 1975. It's a huge hole in my cultural knowledge. (I've only seen 5 of the ones on your list, for example.) For the past decade or so, I have a terrible tendency to fall asleep if I sit still for the two-hours-ish time period a movie requires. This is true even at the theater. Sad, huh?
ReplyDeleteThe "movie quote game" is my family's favorite thing to do on long car rides. I'd begun to think my brain was not able to do it anymore becuase I was not getting any of the kids quotes...but I got 9 of yours, so now I feel much better! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDidn't do so well - I think I knew a big bad three..... I need to watch more movies (in my spare time!)
ReplyDeleteI missed this - but isn't amazing how so many of these sound familiar? Man I love "I have a need for speed" ... and I hate going fast anywhere!
