Monday Night Break Up

This is not mine, but if I'm being honest, it could be.
As I was watching the Biggest Loser last night, as I do every week, I was motivated to action.  So, instead of watching while eating Ben & Jerry's, as I do every week, I thought I would get on the treadmill.   I used to do the treadmill six days a week, and I used to walk to work.   Then I stopped.   I'm sure I had a good reason.  But the point is, I stopped both the treadmill and walking to work.

So I donned my tennis shoes, pulled off the comforters I had drying on the dusty treadmill and turned it on.   And I walked, slowly, for 20 minutes.  And I breathed, heavily, for longer than that.  And I decided, after my breathing returned to normal, that I need to do that more often.   And I probably should watch the Biggest Loser without Ben & Jerry.  They've been great companions every Monday night, but maybe it's time to break up.   Well, maybe not totally.   Just a Monday night break-up.

Maybe Jen and I can hang out on Mondays.   But JUST Mondays.

  1. "Breaking up is hard to do," but you have made a great start. Annie and I walk every day, and it's good for the body and it's good for the soul.

  8. My treadmill is covered with stuff. Lots of stuff. And dust. Lots of that, too.

  9. I've had a couple of those wonderful "treadmill storage racks", so has my daughter. Papa Bear and I were just talking the other day that we need to put one in the living room and start doing our tv time on our feet instead of, well, you know! Good for you for actually doing it! I used to walk miles and miles and I felt better than at any other time in my life!

  10. LOL! Good for you! I should be more diligent about my relationship with my treadmill ... but as I heard someone say once "Sure I'd like to be thin, but I'd really rather eat cake".

    1. I don't really care about being thin - just healthier. And, yes. I too would much rather eat cake!

  11. Last night I told my husband he is forbidden from bringing home ice cream right now......I've got enough daily temptation with the Girl Scout Cookies, I can't survive both cookies and ice cream in the house!
