This is not mine, but if I'm being honest, it could be. |
So I donned my tennis shoes, pulled off the comforters I had drying on the dusty treadmill and turned it on. And I walked, slowly, for 20 minutes. And I breathed, heavily, for longer than that. And I decided, after my breathing returned to normal, that I need to do that more often. And I probably should watch the Biggest Loser without Ben & Jerry. They've been great companions every Monday night, but maybe it's time to break up. Well, maybe not totally. Just a Monday night break-up.
Maybe Jen and I can hang out on Mondays. But JUST Mondays.
Good for you! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteYes I can!! haha
Delete"Breaking up is hard to do," but you have made a great start. Annie and I walk every day, and it's good for the body and it's good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteNeil Sedaka is going through my brain now :)
DeleteI'm with you on needing to start working out....again! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAgain is the key word :)
DeleteYeah, just on Mondays! It wouldn't be right to make it permanent! ;)
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteAwesome Judy!! I need to start walking again..I used to walk two miles at least 4 nites a week. I bet it would be a great addition to my WW....you go girl! and thanks for sharing your encouragement! Break it to Ben and Jerry easy...
ReplyDeleteBen & Jerry were both very cool about it :)
DeleteI need to start walking again now that spring is starting to show up. I was a slug all winter!
ReplyDeleteSlug twins we are :)
DeleteWhy does everyone I know use their exercise equipment to hang their stuff on?
ReplyDeleteGood for you. It is hard to put good habits back into place. But, I believe you can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's easier just not to break those good habits in the first place!
DeleteMy treadmill is covered with stuff. Lots of stuff. And dust. Lots of that, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like mine :)
DeleteI've had a couple of those wonderful "treadmill storage racks", so has my daughter. Papa Bear and I were just talking the other day that we need to put one in the living room and start doing our tv time on our feet instead of, well, you know! Good for you for actually doing it! I used to walk miles and miles and I felt better than at any other time in my life!
ReplyDeleteI watch movies while I'm on my treadmill _ I need that mental distraction to keep my mind off what I'm doing !!
DeleteLOL! Good for you! I should be more diligent about my relationship with my treadmill ... but as I heard someone say once "Sure I'd like to be thin, but I'd really rather eat cake".
ReplyDeleteI don't really care about being thin - just healthier. And, yes. I too would much rather eat cake!
DeleteAwesome! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteLast night I told my husband he is forbidden from bringing home ice cream right now......I've got enough daily temptation with the Girl Scout Cookies, I can't survive both cookies and ice cream in the house!
ReplyDeleteYay you Judy! Must just be that time of year when we're all needing to get it in gear and move. :)
