Psycho Chinese Batman
My college daughter just texted me and said "Where's your new post?"
Me: "I haven't written one."
Her: "Mooooommmmm."
Me: "Tell me what to write about."
Her: "Psychology. China. Batman."
Hmmmm. Okay. The Psychology of Batman in China. Or maybe she just meant "Write anything, I don't care. Just write!"
So, here's my attempt at writing just anything.
Yesterday I went downstairs to my daughter's room to watch a little TV - I really didn't want my husband to know I was watching "Real Housewives of New Jersey" - he wouldn't understand. As I was lying on her bed, I realized that it wasn't really the TV that drew me to her room . . . I just missed her.
So, as I watched crazy Teresa verbally beating up on Melissa, and Melissa pulling up her top so as to avoid a wardrobe malfunction, and holier-than-thou Caroline standing in the background shaking her head in disgust, I thought of my daughter . . . and smiled. Grateful she's not a real housewife of New Jersey.

DeleteI get that! Sometimes I go into the room where my daughter grew up and I read or take a nap on the bed. She had a lovely south facing window which is particularly nice on a sunny but cold winter day. I love laying on the bed and remembering when she lived there.
ReplyDeleteYou have a sweet daughter. I love that she nudged you to write a post. And I love that batman cartoon, too.
