I got my fried fair food, although it was really a let down. I have always wanted those big blocks of french fries they sell, but I am usually watching what I eat so I never get them. THIS time, however, I am SO not watching what I am eating. So, with great anticipation, I paid $7.50 and got my humongous glob of french fries and . . . that's really what they were - - just a glob of greasy disgustedness. They weren't crisp, they were just limp. Yuk. I threw them away. Bye bye $7.50. So disappointing. The good news, though - - I will probably never want to get fair food again :) Not even fried tarantulas.
Ugh, that really sucks. I hate when I have something built up in my mind (and mouth) and it doesn't live up. The balloons were nice, though.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing, I guess, that the FF sucked . . . too expensive AND too bad for me :)
DeleteVery lovely pic of the air balloons and story. Sounded like a very nice festival except for the fries part. That bites that they nasty and yeeouch on the $7.50 I think for that price I would have covered them in Old Bay, ketchup and vinegar and tried to eat them anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love the crunch of french fries - - and almost anything else. My husband knows that when he's BBQ'ing to burn one for me :)
DeleteThe balloons are so beautiful, and the feet for that matter. If I had those feet I wouldn't cover them up either.
ReplyDeleteA little chedder cheese and some beef gravey would have made those fries edible. We Canadians have really perfected the glob fries thing.
Those are young feet - mine are not :)
DeleteSorry about your french fries, should've stuck to the funnel cake and corn dogs. You can't go wrong with those!
ReplyDeletecorn dog sounds good :)
DeleteNever mind the fried fair food....those balloons were a sight to behold.
ReplyDeletethe balloons were actually really beautiful this year . . . the weather was perfect!
DeleteThat's a bummer about the FF's. I hate it when that happens!
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteSuch a beautiful view!!
ReplyDeleteBlech . But remember, you don't need no stinking French Fries!
Larissa, if I had co-workers they'd be looking at me right now wondering why I am laughing out loud :)
DeleteToo bad about the FFs. Next year you might something worth trying. Lesson learned I guess. The balloons are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some fried ice cream next time - - can't go wrong with ice cream!
DeleteWhat a beautiful pic! Sorry about the disappointment.
ReplyDelete$7.50 lesson learned :)
DeleteAny excuse to mention fried tarantulas eh? lol
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist :)
DeleteWhat a great view! Hot air balloons are always fun to see, I'm not the adventurous type so seeing them from the ground is good enough for me :)
ReplyDeleteI think it was a good experiment to get the french fries; cost a bit but now you know not to "trust" fair food again; always will be a disappointment in taste I think. Somehow though, it always smells so good walking past it.
betty
i am a sucker for most all fair food--i was especially excited one year to find the "sugar free" funnel cakes!--at least you are over your cravings :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome view to have from your yard! Love it!
ReplyDeleteJust looked at it full size...
DeleteBeautiful! In awe and envious! Thank you for the pic! :)
