I just want to mention three things this morning that are on my mind - -
First, my husband and I went to see Woman in Black last night. All the other couples were going to see "The Vow." But, being a scary movie lover, I had been looking forward to seeing it for a long time. The only thing that was keeping me from being full-blown excited about it was Harry Potter . . . or, Daniel Radcliffe, as I'm sure he would rather be known (since that IS his name). Like a zillion other people (probably mostly kids), I have lived Harry Potter for a decade. And so I was apprehensive that Woman in Black would be a let down. Well . . .I was kind of wrong about that. It was scary and did make me jump - - a few times. That's the good part. The not so good part - - every time I saw "him" (which was the entire movie because - duh - he's the star), I thought of Harry. There was even a scene in the beginning of the movie with "him" on a train - - and it looked just like the Hogwarts Express! Seriously! The only thing missing was the sign "Hogwarts Express" on the front of the train. So . . . I have decided that I need to see Woman in Black again - - and this time I am going to force myself (somehow) NOT to think of HP . . . If that doesn't work, then I guess he will always be Harry to me :)
Second, it is my son's 21st birthday today! Since he lives out of town, we are visiting him and celebrating tomorrow - - I won't bore you with how awesome he is, but he is!!
Third, the Big.Huge.Mirror. This morning. Ugh.
We were going to go see The Vow, and at the last minute decided to spend valentines with the grandkiddies at Chic-FilA. : )
ReplyDeleteI am afraid that is probably how we too will see Daniel Radcliff too, as Harry Potter- always. : / I think no matter which movie he stars in, we will probably still look for some renewed/old parts to Harry Potter. : )
Ignore the mirror. Have fun with your son and family. I'm glad the movie was at least a little scary, even if you can't get HP out of you thoughts.
ReplyDeleteMight be good that you never saw him in Equus then ;) (I didn't either. I'm just sayin'!)
ReplyDeleteGlad you jumped a few times, since you like that sort of thing. I do not like jumping!
Happy birthday to your son!
Re The Big Huge mirror... I thought that was at the salon? Your hair must grow quick! -Or did you visit a carnival? ;)
I would RATHER be at the carnival - - but yes, my hair grows fast :)
DeleteHappy Birthday to your awesome son .. and I heard reviews of that movie and Daniel got some very good press .. it was said he has a career after Potter ..
ReplyDeleteI'm scared of The Vow. I might cry for a week straight.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your song, and tell the mirror to leave you alone. He's just jealous of your awesomeness.
I have been wanting to see The Woman in Black. Sounds like I'll have to avoid all things HP for a week beforehand. Happy Birthday to D! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, Erin, I kind of OD'ed on HP. This will sound retarded, but I watched him almost every day for one whole year while I did the treadmill - - what can I say, I'm just a little weird :)
DeleteHappy Birthday to your son. My daughter saw Danielle Radcliffe on Broadway this past summer (How To Succeed In Business...)--she hasn't called him Harry since. ;)
ReplyDeleteThere are just some actors that I remember from one movie. No matter how many other things they will always be known as "that guy from _______". My daughter wants to see that movie. I don't do horror so she can see it with her grandma.
ReplyDeleteI had not even HEARD of those movies until I read your post (the vow one and the Woman in Black ones) so can't offer much there.
ReplyDeleteI will say I wish you would "bore us" as you put it and tell us about that adorable 21 year old son.
And third, I encountered The,Big,Huge. STUPID. mirror today too. Funk city.
I was able to not think of Harry Potter during the movie- maybe all the children being noisy helped.
ReplyDeleteAs for the big mirror, this is where wearing glasses helps. I take them off and 'voila', can't see a thing.
