Just Say No

Okay, I'm thinking that it's seriously time to put the cookies down and pick up the apple instead.  Alright, I don't like apples (unless dipped in caramel).  But maybe I could pick up an orange or something.  I have many blessings in my life, but being naturally thin is not counted among them.  I like food.  I like junk food.  I like sweets.   I like to be able to fit in my clothes.  Sometimes those things don't mesh.   When that happens, it's time to make a choice.

That happened.   And now it's crunch time (no pun intended).  It's time to find out what I'm really made of.   Do I have what it takes to SAY NO TO COOKIES??   We shall see.

  1. You know my new philosophy...just run away...but if that takes me near a cookie, I will stop and eat it...:)

  2. It seems like a really bad time of year to start this endeavor . . . or maybe that's a really bad excuse and it's really the best time of year . . .

  3. I love apples dipped in caramel. Get the fat free kind and measure out just a small serving. A little caramel on an apple slice goes a long way. One of my problems is that junk food is just handier. You rip open a package and shazam! instant gratification. You are so not alone.

  4. Tammy, your comment "measure out just a small serving" assumes I have the self-control to do that! haha. I've been dealing with this roller coaster ride my whole life. There are much worse things I could be dealing with, though, so I am going to be grateful and count my blessings!

  5. Not the best time of year to start! But so long as it's not a super strict diet you can start now. Just decide that specific dates (Christmas, and any other get togethers you have coming up), will not be diet days. Or if you're planning to eat well on those days too, bring zip locks of your favorite fruit. - Even TEN bags of your favorite fruit is better than ten pieces of cake :)

  6. WAIT!!! Moderation is the key, portion control is the key .. dont toss your cookies .. just eat less of them and cut back on carbs at meal time... Honey Crisps from your neck o'the woods are my favorite dessert .. and if you dab a bit of peanut butter on them then can be breakfast or lunch... keep the cookies!!!!!

  7. I've come to realize through years of experience that "diet" is a four letter word! Therefore, I don't "diet." I eat smarter, and I exercise. And drink lots of water. Which, I guess, in a way, is dieting - but the word is a downer for me - haha. But I like the peanut butter/Honey Crips idea!

  8. Thanks for visiting my blog-so I could find yours. I read your profile and I'm pretty sure we're twins separated at birth, and by different mothers. You get the idea.
