But what will probably happen is that I'll enjoy the first hour. And then I'll get lonely. And I'll wish my husband was home. And I'll probably do laundry. And maybe clean the kitchen. I do have to color my hair, so maybe I'll do that, too. I looked at the living room floor last night and thought that it needed to be vacuumed. So, I may do that, too. Oh, man! I gotta snap out of this! Focus! Lazy. Remote. Ben. Jerry. One night out of my life, I shouldn't feel guilty - right?!
My favorite :) |
Okay, then. Here's to a lazy, relaxing, self-absorbed Friday evening!
I hope you got that guilt free, self-absorbed Friday night. Maybe you shared it with Harry, along with Ben & Jerry and the dog?
ReplyDeleteYay for lazy. I hope you didn't do laundry!!
ReplyDeleteJust say "NO!" to housework on Friday nights! Hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteNo Harry. No laundry. No housework. I was a total lazy bum :)
ReplyDeleteThe pint of ice cream reminded me of trips to the LA temple, 31 flavors (was it just a pint, I thought it was a quart...) and walks around the temple talking about the lives we hoped we'd have. Great memories. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure Ben & Jerry's has a flavor that would take the edge off any lingering guilt. Glad you enjoyed your evening.
ReplyDeleteSO? Did you indulge in an evening free of chores or did you clean the house???????
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lazy evening! I know I personally am not able to do that too often. Like you, I'm aware of the little things that need to get done....but when I can shake off those guilty feelings, what bliss it is to relax!
ReplyDeleteI must admit, it was nice :)
ReplyDeletePam - peanut butter & chocolate and pralines n cream :). Feels like ancient history on one hand but on the other seems like yesterday. VERY good memories.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I always look forward to the times when my sweet husband is out of town - I enjoy my solitude. I enjoy the peace and quiet - not that he makes all that much noise but just the idea that I can have what I want for dinner (which I can do even when he is here - how's that for logic?) And, damn, if I don't typically end up falling asleep on the couch, book on the floor next to me. Glad to have discovered your blog!
ReplyDeletePS - I love your tag line about boxes - I painted a whole series of boxes once upon a time - that process got me out of the box forever.
ReplyDeletesebtown294 - glad you're here! And as for falling asleep on the couch? I would NEVER do that! wink wink
ReplyDeleteSince everyone has been and gone, this is probably a good time to mention that, as a retiree, the couch and I have become good buds. As I say to Sebtown, who is still working on a middle school campus, every night is Friday night, and every morning is Saturday. Everything comes to him who waits, including old age. And at 59, I am still "middle-aged." [I know-if I believe that, then you have this bridge I might want to buy…]
