Sssh. Listen.

Sometimes we need to shut everything else out and just Listen.   Listen to the still small voice whispering in your ear.   Whispering encouragement, whispering love, whispering hope.  Sssh.   Just Listen.  You'll be amazed how much you can hear.

    1. It's amazing when we really listen. Broken things can be fixed, beauty can be heard all around us!

  2. Amen! We have become a society afraid of silence, afraid to "Be still and know that I am God"! How much peace we could find if only we would stop our busyness from time to time and listen. Great post, Judy!

    1. Exactly! Our life is filled with self-employed "busyness" - when beauty and greatness are screaming to be heard!

  3. and all I hear are argumentative and/or reprimanding voices. They are loud and scary. I'll close the door now.

  4. You'd be surprised at how few people actually listen. I think that most people are thinking about what they are going to say while the other person is talking.

    1. Guilty - at times. I need to practice more often what I preach :)

  5. This relates to your earlier post...Listening requires that the "I" in us ceases and desists...Of course, you are right on point!

    1. Haha I didn't even think of the relationship between the two posts - I should stop and THINK more often as well as listen :)

  7. This is probably one of the things I have difficulty with the most. Just sitting in silence and listening to what comes up. I usually have something going on as a distraction whether it's the TV, music, or Internet. Perhaps I can try this for a few minutes each day to start.

  8. Quieting my surrounds and just being still and listening is something I need to practice more often. I am guilty of keeping noise on in my house; I always have. Maybe as I'm getting a little older I can see the wisdom in being quiet and listening. Thank you for the reminder.

  9. This is so true. Moving to a foreign country and learning a new language also taught me how to listen, really listen with all my senses. The greatest music of all is sound of silence. Though I do love listening to my friend play his guitar :) Happy #atozchallenge

  10. Is it bad that I read this in an Elmer Fudd voice? Ever since I was a kid, "Sshh" has always reminded me of Fudd. "Be vewy quiet..."
