Quit

Have you ever felt like Quitting?  Me too.   (As I'm sure you could tell from my lame-O post the other day!)   I don't know if we just run out of juice, run out of motivation, run out of time, run out of heart, run out of courage.   I don't know.   I DO know, though, that some times it's okay to Quit.   Take Man vs. Food, for instance.   I think it would be A-okay for Adam Richman to Quit eating that 10 pound hamburger and 5 pounds of chili cheese fries in 30 minutes or less.   Better to Quit than to explode.    And it's probably okay to Quit your job if your family happens to be moving out of state.   Better to Quit than be abandoned.

There are times, though, when it is NOT okay to Quit.

It is NOT okay to Quit being a parent.   It is NOT okay to Quit obeying the law.  (It is okay, however, to try to CHANGE the law through proper channels.)    It is NOT okay to Quit on your beliefs just because the world says you're wrong.   It is NOT okay to Quit loving.  And it is NOT okay to Quit living just because it's hard sometimes.

Quit.  According to me.

  1. Quitting is usually optional - perseverance works better, imho...except of course, in the case of the hamburger and fries!

  2. Everything is optional because everything is a choice, right?! Even the hamburger and chili cheese fries :)

  3. I quit organ lessons in 3rd grade. I haaaaaaated it. I couldn't bear the thought of being in a recital. Does that guy really eat a 10 lb hamburger and 5 lbs of chili fries? Eeeeeek. Did it come with an angioplasty on the side?

  5. I hate quitting but I have to admit...in light of recent circumstances, I have had moments where I have felt like quitting my job. But quitting my family? NEVER ever!

  6. The things that we quit and the things that we stick ultimately define who we are. So, we need to make those choices wisely.

It's always easier to quit the second time, the best way to avoid that is just to never quit. We all know when the time is to give up, but we never quit.

    1. I guess giving up and quitting ARE different, aren't they?

  9. I don't like quitting, but I fully endorse the AWOL method of dealing. A few days of denial can work wonders.

  10. Quit is my word today too. Done in a totally different way. Now that I think of it, didn't we both do kool-aid last year for K?

  11. Sometimes you need to Quit and cut losses or you can go crazy. That is why it is better to think things through before starting, sometimes....
