About

So, I don't talk About myself a lot, as those of you who have followed me for a while may know.    I think I'm boring.   Ordinary.   Nothing special.   Sure, there are certain occasions, such as marriages, or babies, or children going away to do something incredible, that I will share.   But not too much About me.   I am not interesting.

But since it's a new day, and a new month, I thought I'd step out on a ledge and share something About me.   So, here goes - - I believe.

Yes, believe it or not.  I believe.    I believe that truth never changes.   Otherwise it would not be truth.   I believe the world changes, people change, my taste in music changes.   Truth.  Never.  Changes.   2 + 2 will always = 4.   And just because you want it to equal 5 doesn't make it so.   I believe that sometimes people mistake their own personal change of perception or opinion as a change of truth.   Not so.  The sun is the sun as much in the winter when it shyly hides behind the clouds as it is in the summer when it boldly shows itself in full glory.  You may circle truth as it stands steadfast and unbendable.  And you may see its different dimensions.  But it is still the same truth, no matter how you choose to look at it.   If you tell me that night is day and day is night, hoping that I will believe it, and that if I don't believe it I'm not a good person, please save your breath.  Because, you see, I believe.

And there, my friends, is a little something About me.

  1. That is good. Many people do think something is different because of how they perceive it.

  3. Annie and I both believe, that even though you do not write about yourself a lot, we still can see what kind of person you are. And that is why we believe we can be friends.

  7. A fact is anything that has not yet been disproved. Truth is something that can not be disproved. SOmetimes it is hard to tell the difference between what has yet to be disproved with that which CAN NOT be disproved.

And thats the truth. Nice post, but now I have a headache!

    1. I think I have a headache, too :) Oh, and I think I was commenting on your blog the same time you were commenting on mine -- and since your post was about time, I thought that was kind of funny. Or not.

  9. I wasn't really asking you. lol Your post is like the things we talk about in Philosophy. Perception. But to answer your question...No. We hear sound because sound waves bounce off our eardrums. There would be no eardrums for it to bounce off of if nobody/nothing was there to hear it.

  10. You definitely don't give yourself enough credit. You are interesting :).

I really hadn't thought about the unwavering dedication of truth--it's nice to have that stability among all of the chaos.

  12. I don't think you are boring at all!

  13. I believe the same. And I also believe that there is only one truth at the risk of sounding narrow-minded. (Many argue that truth changes according to perception and everyone can have 'their own' truth)

    1. I don't think that's narrow minded at all. It's also what I believe. One truth. Many perceptions, but only one truth. And it never changes.

  14. Judy, your life may look ordinary with not lots happening; mine is pretty much the same unless something is happening in my family. You; however, are not uninteresting or ordinary. You obviously have a following of people who think you are interesting! Good for you for doing the A-Z Challenge; I didn't make it this year; kind of sad but it wasn't a practical thing for me to commit to while visiting family out of town. Looking forward to reading your blog posts.

  16. New follower here. My opinion is that there isn't any direct correlation between someone who talks a lot about themselves and their level of being "interesting." I say this because I've known people who talk non-stop about themselves when they're out, and suddenly, I'm in the mood for a nap. So just because someone doesn't have a lot to share about themselves, it doesn't make them boring. Not at all.

You stated your belief so elegantly. I loved it. Almost wish I could steal it whole and put it into a story.

  24. So funny that we both made such use of a "B" word on the "A" day. I love hearing about what others believe--I think, to some extent, we're built of our beliefs and they are little windows into each other's souls. Looking forward to seeing where the alphabet takes us for the rest of the month.

  28. This is powerful... and I love it! I agree, just because someone doesn't like the truth, or doesn't speak the truth, it doesn't alter truth one bit! Great writing, Judy, glad to see you back, and in great form!
