Random thoughts of a girl who used to try to fit in the box. Then I realized that boxes are stupid. Except this box, the one above. It's really pretty.
I must be the only person in the world that isn't into Les Miserables. I understand the way this was filmed with the people actually singing and not dubbed in later is quite the feat.
I cannot wait for this!! Last October, the hubby and I took the 14-yo to DC to see Les Miz at the Kennedy Center. So, so, so, so, so good!! I'm making her go with me to the movie, too. :-)
I have seen Les Miserables (stage productions, including Broadway, Chicago, and Milwaukee)about 30 times. I wanted to name one of our sons Javert (I find his character more sympathetic than most), but Joe wouldn't go for it.
I tried reading the book in French, but then I remembered that I don't actually speak French.
I'm reading the book for the first time - and I'm picturing Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe and the others and am so loving it!!! 30 times ???? Seriously???? You're my hero, Marianne.
I'm not much of a musical theater person, but I did love Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp. My sister loves Les Mis, though I'm not sure if she's seen it live. I'm pretty certain she's going to see the movie, though!
My favorite! I was blessed to see it in London from the second row, in the pit! Practically a religious experience. ;-) I can hear the people sing . . .all the time. 122512 can't come soon enough.
I never saw this or read the book. I remember it was playing in the theatre district of San Francisco for a really long time in the early 90s but I never got around to seeing it. :(
Do you hear the people sing?? ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's all I'm hearing . . .and it's wonderful!
DeleteI don't know what the first two are, but I agree about 122512! Now that's a number I can get excited about.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll just keep you guessing, Mark!
DeleteI have a good friend who's so excited about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm making my daughter go see it with me :)
