It Could Happen, You Know

You guys don't know how lucky you are!   I couldn't wait to change my background - - I was so done with the Halloween theme!   I looked at the fall backgrounds . . . kind of boring.   So, I thought, hmmmm . . . Christmas is just around the corner!!   Ya ya, I know most of you said PLEASE NO CHRISTMAS YET!!!!    Party poopers.   But, I didn't want you go "ewwww" everytime you opened my blog.   So, just know I thought of you when I didn't choose the adorable Santa Claus and reindeer background - - - - yet!!!    This current background is not the prettiest background, but hey, it's not Halloween anymore!

We are heading to Salt Lake City tomorrow for the weekend.   My daughter turns 20 on Saturday, so she is meeting us to celebrate her birthday.    We'll have a fun filled day with football, shopping and dinner.   Then turn around and come home on Sunday and be ready to resume my boring life on Monday morning in the basement.   But, seriously . . . how boring can it be with the holidays coming?!    So, as I sit at my desk in the dungeon, I will plan my menu for Thanksgiving and try to start a Christmas list.   I know it is really late for a lot of people to be starting a list.  Some people are already finished shopping . . . or creating wonderful gifts.  I hate those people.  Me?  I'm kind of a late planner/shopper.   I guess I put it off hoping that some long lost relative that I never knew would have died and left me a big inheritance.  Or some extremely rich stranger who had no hope left in the goodness of people saw me do a kind deed and his hope in mankind was restored . . . and he put me in his Will.    But I'm not crazy or delusional.  I know that's not going to happen.   But, still . . . you never know.   And if it DID happen, that would have a huge impact on my Christmas shopping list.

So, maybe there's a miracle on University Street about to happen :)

    1. I keep telling myself year after year that you don't have to have a ton of money to have a beautiful holiday season. And every year I prove myself right!

  2. Thanks for holding off on Christmas back grounds I am still wanting to enjoy some Fall themes not necessarily Halloween but the leaves love the colors.
I sadly do have my plans in check, health issues forced it. Have a safe trip & happy birthday to the daughter :)

    1. Thanks, Janice. And I don't hold it against you that you are a planner. I secretly am impressed and a bit envious :)

  5. I think if you check your spam/junk email, you will find that you are the beneficiary of A LOT of people's Wills. OK they are all in Africa and require you send a payment of $4,000 to release your funds.....seems legit. lol ;) I used to be one of 'those' Christmas people - shopping done during the year, packages mailed by Thanksgiving, cards done by Veterans Day weekend. Batches and batches of cookies and cranberry breads made in Dec. Now, not so much. It took too much energy.

  6. I like your little red and silver picture! This is a shocker, I know, but I haven't even given Christmas one iota of thought yet. I guess it doesn't really enter my mind until after Thanksgiving - maybe I will think a bit and be watching for ideas about gifts but menu? That will be whatever I can get anyone else to cook! Decorations? hmmmmm - whatever anyone else wants to put up. I do enjoy the holiday music and I will start to play that after Thanksgiving. But I am happy for you and Mark and anyone else who likes to start early. NO problem for me.
and you never know, maybe someone WILL send you some money! You deserve it!
