Cross My Heart

Promise.   Cross my heart and hope to die.

I promise that Santa can fit down that chimney.
I promise that we'll get a puppy someday.
I promise that you'll find new friends when we move.
I promise that if you study you'll pass your driver's test.

You promised that it will be okay.
You promised that my broken heart will mend.
You promised that there are good people in the world.
You promised that if I do what's right I will be blessed.

He promised to always be there for us.
He promised to listen when we talk to Him.
He promised to always love us.
He promised to prepare a mansion on high for us.

Promise

Cross my heart and hope to die.

  4. I love this piece, Judy, and how it reflects the promises we tell, the promises that are told to us, and the only promises we can count on not being broken - God's promises!

    1. Thanks, Betty! We've all made promises that we haven't kept - - part of being human, I guess :(
