Redrum

"Physically, it's not a very demanding job.  The only thing that can get a bit trying here during the winter. . .is a tremendous sense of isolation."

"That just happens to be exactly what l'm looking for.

l'm outlining a new writing  project.  Five months of peace is just what l  want."

"That's very good, Jack.  Because, for some people. . .solitude. . .and isolation. . .can, of itself, become a problem."

  "Not for me."

"How about your wife and son? Do you think they'll take to it?"

  "They'll love it."

"Great."

    1. Well, I've never really come up against the paranormal face to face - - so reserve your judgment of my braveness for later!!

  4. Hum, this is what seems to be happening to me. There's isolation and solitude and most of all BOREDUM and tedium. I just might end up like good old Jack. No spooks, but we do get bears from time to time.

  5. I cannot wait to watch this movie closer to Halloween. It's one of my faves. I cannot convince my honey to watch it...he thinks it's way too scary but I swear I'm laughing from the second I first see Jack. He's already unhinged and plays the role soooo over the top. And I love seeing Timberline Lodge & Mt. Hood too.

    1. Oh Sherry, you could never be like Jack :). But personally I'm glad I'm not like his wife either - she's kind of scary looking!

  8. Have you read the book? Or just seen one or more of the movies? It's all pretty freaky...I was just curious. ;)

    1. I read the book years and years ago. And I've seen both movies - - like the original so much better.

    2. I enjoyed the book, but I think the first movie was actually better than the book and loads better than the second movie. I understand the second movie was supposed to be closer to the book and to King's original intention, but there's simply no substitute for Jack Nicholson, in my opinion.
