I Keep Seeing The Letter "R"?

Lightbulb!!  I just thought of THE perfect halloween costume!

The Long Island Medium - Teresa Caputo!!   It would be so simple!   All you'd really need to do is get that bleached blonde signature hair and the equally signature long, long fingernails!   And the best part?  I love her!!   I could be Teresa for a day!   Well, I really couldn't BE Teresa for a day since I am not a medium, but I could PRETEND to be Teresa for a day.

There is just something about this woman that makes me smile.  For one, I believe she really is what she says she is - a medium.   For two, I love her accent!   For three, she is just so down to earth and real.   Watching her do what she does just makes me happy.  And she always makes me cry.

So, that is what I'll be for Halloween -- the Long Island Medium!

What are you going to be?

P.S.  Please do not tell me that you think she's a fake - - I will cry.

  5. I like her a lot, too. I love how she just walks up to people everywhere she goes and tells them about someone who is watching over them. She makes me cry all of the time, too. Her husband cracks me up. I alternately want to shake and hug her daughter. LOL. That's kids for ya. I think that is what makes her show great. They are a very real family. Very real problems. At the end of the day she is a person just like everyone else. She has no pretense about her. That's why I like her. And I definitely think she's the real deal. She has made so many people's lives better by giving them peace of mind. A lot of people with that gift would just walk away because people would think they are a kook. Or might not believe them. Whatever. I think she's a gutsy lady. She makes people's lives better. Pretty heroic if you ask me. A lot of people choose to be superheroes at Halloween. She is a regular hero, in her way. Good choice for Halloween if you ask me. You might want to practice the accent;)

    1. I admit I'll have a hard time with the accent! I watched a DVR'ed episode last night - the one on the cruise ship - and at the end that's what her son called her - a hero. The way she shares her gift is inspiring (and funny at times!), and she really does change people's lives. Oh, and the nails may make it hard to . . . well, to do just about everything!!

  6. I don't dress up for Halloween...we rarely get any kids anyway. Not when I lived in CA or WA or here. Maybe one group of 3 or 4. And I've never seen the LI Medium. Seems like she has an uncanny knack of knowing stuff about people. I guess I'd have to meet her for myself and see what she said to me in order to believe or disbelieve. :) what's her accent like? Is it a New York/New Jersey?

    1. I don't really know the difference between a NY or NJ accent :) They kind of sound the same to me.

  8. I had to google her. I thought you were referring to a size "A Long Island MEDIUM." Yup...doesn't take much to confuse me. Love the idea, though!

  10. I will have to google her. We don't have TV anymore. Don't I sound like fun? For Halloween I will wear my black T-shirt with the cat on it. Maybe. LOL

    1. That is the most awesome thing! My heart aches for those seniors who are on their own, with no family around or people who love them. Thank you for what you and your group do! Although, now I'm thinking the witch costume is so wrong! Unless it's the Glenda the Good Witch :)

  13. I've not heard of her either but hey, she sounds like fun and a good soul. Let's hear it for people who add spice to life.
The whole dressing up thing? I used to dress up when I taught primary (if you call digging out a long black dress, putting on boots and wearing my hair streaming down my back to my waist -- something I never did on regular school days -- but that didn't take much effort. I guess that's my problem - it takes more effort than I want to expend to come up with any costume! It would be fun to play that with the middle schoolers - maybe a third of the staff dresses up for the day - but it would mean thinking that through and that's where I get lost!
