Fingers Poised

Fingers poised on the keyboard . . . waiting for the thoughts to trickle from my brain, down my arm and into those waiting fingers.

* I used to compare my life with others.   You know, the grass is always greener kind of thing.   So stupid.   It took me awhile, but I realized that nobody has a perfect life, we all struggle with something.   So glad I realized that - I now look at my own life and see how blessed I am.   Do I have a huge house?  No.  Do I have a huge bank account?  No.  Do I have a loving husband?  Yes.  Do I have three terrific children?  Yes.  And the love we have grows with each addition to our family.   SO much better than the huge house and huge bank account.  Lesson learned.

* I really, really like Halloween and the season, and I love things paranormal, but I don't think I can write an entire month of blog posts about it!    Is it too early to change my blog template to something Christmasy???   Lesson learned.

* Chocolate goes with anything.  Lesson learned (fortunately I learned that one early!!).

* Giving really IS better than receiving.   I've really know this for a long time, but this lesson is reinforced everytime I hand a dollar to someone holding a sign on a corner (thank you Shelby).   Lesson learned.

Life offers many lessons.   We all need to be students and pay attention to the teacher!   Lesson learned.

But seriously, guys - - is it too early to do the Christmas background??!!

  1. It's never too early for Christmas! I read a saying recently that I loved, " Don't compare your behind the scenes to someone else's highlight reel" So true!

  2. Um, yes it's too early for Christmas. There are cute Thanksgiving things out there and don't sell Halloween too short. The day after Thanksgiving then I say bring on the Ho!Ho!Ho! I love your lessons learned.

  3. C'mon Judy you can do it! Just a few more days of halloweeny!!! How about featuring some of your fave scary films? Or haunted places you'd like to visit? Or hit up Pinterest for recipes and decorating ideas?

BTW, I still compare my life to others, esp. having lost everything and starting over again with nothing. My retirement is gutted, I lost my home...we are living check to check. All my friends have homes and we are renting. It makes me embarrassed sometimes that people might think I'm a loser... :(

    1. JoJo!!! Loser? Don't even think it. I think you are awesome. Nobody cares if you rent. Living check to check is something MILLIONS of people do - - especially these days. I always look forward to seeing your posts and seeing your comments on mine!!! (It IS hard not to compare our lives - - but it just poisons us to do it).

    2. I don't even know you, JoJo, but I would NEVER assume you are a loser simply b/c you rent a home instead of own one! Home ownership is not all it's cracked up to be.....

    3. I like your lessons - I'm not big on halloween but Thanksgiving is pretty cool - Couldn't you think about just being with Thanksgiving for a few weeks and then moving to the Christmas theme on the day after THKGVG? I am looking forward to your Christmas posts!

  4. yes still early for Christmasy things. I just shuddered when I was in WalMart a few weeks ago and their decorations were up. Lets gradually ease into each holiday slowly and gently if we can :)

We really do have a lot to be grateful for indeed; its a great lesson to learn to be content with what we have and to be as generous as we can with the less fortunate. Seems like you did learn lots of great lessons along the way :)

  5. I like your lessons learned. But don't change your background yet. Get through Halloween, and then Thanksgiving. Then you can do Christmas. LOL!
