Bring It On Baby!
The other night my husband and I watched a DVD copy of the Fiesta Bowl from a few years back - the one with Boise State v. Oklahoma. Now, I realize that a lot of you (most of you) could probably care less about college football and therefore don't understand the magnificence of that particular game. We, however, in our house, are lovers of the game and we were just as excited and our palms sweat just as much watching it years later as watching it in 2007 live. It really was the most awesome game - - unless you are a Sooner. Then probably not so much. Bur for us Bronco lovers, it was indeed the game of the decade.
But my point is this - - I can't wait for college football to start. I realize that it's only the middle of July, but still, I can't wait. I love the fall. I love college football, I love the rivalries, I love ESPN's Gameday, I love Erin Andrews (the only female sports person I like), I love Waving the Flag for Washington State University, I love hoping every single year at the beginning of the season that your team will go to a bowl game. I love the crispness of the air, seeing my breath, wearing sweatshirts, sitting in the stands, watching the band at halftime.
So, there, now you know. My secret (not so secret anymore) addiction. College football. Bring it on baby!!!!!

We love football season, here, too! Though, admittedly, the reasons are split down the middle.
ReplyDeleteMy 12-yo son is a Boise State fan. We're not sure why...he says he likes the colors. :-D He claims he's going to play football someday for Boise State. He and my dad love football. My husband, 13-yo daughter, and I are all marching band geeks. And you know, marching band and football are like peanut butter and jelly...at least, in high school and college. So we all love football season...just for different reasons. :-)
Doesn't matter the reason!!! College football rocks! And yea for your son! Boise State rules!!
DeleteTime...time...time...there's not enough of it. So I stick to the 49ers, and read about college football. I agree-hands down-that college ball is more exciting than pro-ball. I just have to draw the line somewhere. After all, it's still baseball season, and though you have pronounced the Dodgers the better team (last April) than the Giants, I think we have yet to determine the accuracy of your assertion. You know what they say: "Small minds-small pleasures..." It's all good.
ReplyDeleteI stopped really caring about NFL when the Rams moved to St. Louis :) Sad day in So Cal
DeleteAfter a long hot summer, fall and all that comes with it is most welcome. We cheer for Clemson and sometimes Penn State. I just like a really good game, whoever is playing.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back . . . Clemson, yes. Penn State, no :)

That doesn't really surprise me :) I still like you, too.
