Hi Ho! Hi Ho!

I hope you all had a nice day yesterday (in spite of my rather grumpy blog and even grumpier wish for you all).

So, this past weekend I took the $20 that I saved by not getting free donuts on National Donut Day and went to the movies instead with my husband.   He let me pick, which was only right since I was the one who saved $20 (well, hypothetically speaking - but still).   I picked Snow White and the Huntsman, even though I wasn't sure if my husband would like it.   I know, selfish.  But I wanted to see it, so didn't care if he liked it or not.   That's not true.  I did care.   But I decided to take that risk.   And, ta da . . . drum roll . . . .

He liked it!  As a matter of fact, he loved it.  He even said "We need to buy that movie when it comes out on DVD."   I wasn't surprised.   It was an awesome movie with lots of action and fighting (no blood or gore).  I even liked Kristen Stewart, which is really saying something for me.  She was not a horrible Snow White.   And not only was she not horrible, she was kind of believable.   But one of the best parts of the movie (besides the Huntsman, who was rather gorgeous) were the dwarfs.   And after my post yesterday, I'm sure that surprises nobody.

All in all, it was a good $20 spent - - and not a single calorie ingested.

And, no more grumpy.  Yes, in Jewel's words of yesterday, today is a much "dopey-er" day!

  1. Well, I know there's a 'Happy' but Dopey always seemed so blissfully joyful.

    1. I love Dopey. And, if you think about it, he has to be happy to look so adorable.

  4. Yay for no more grumpy! I occasionally take my husband to see movies I wanted to see (regardless of whether he wants to see it or not. I know, he's such a sweetie!) Sometimes, we both commiserate (eep, why did we go see THAT?) or sometimes, we surprise ourselves (wow, that was fun. Didn't expect to like it.) Either way, it's all good. There's always good conversaion/discussion afterwards. :)

    1. We don't go to the movies very often, so I feel a little (just a little) guilty going to a movie that I want to see but he doesn't :) He's a pretty good sport, though.

  5. I am a fan of the TV show “Once upon a Time.” There is just something about a fairy tale escape that has stayed with me.
Thanks for the review of Snow White. I thought about seeing it and now I surely will.

  7. Haven't heard of that movie (not surprising since I don't really go to theatres to watch movies anymore). I'll have to check it out.

  10. Going on the trailers for the movie, it looks like a pretty good movie. Not sure if we'll get to see it while it's in theaters, but will definitely rent it on Redbox when it comes out.

  19. Interesting .. it got awful reviews here in the Big Bad Apple .. but then we are such horrible warped people who'd listen to us ... apparently the 'dwarfs' are actual normal sized albeit short actors who by the magic of special effects are made to look like drawfs (or is it dwarves?)? Have you watched Once Upon A Time?

    1. You're not all horrible, Daryl, just the ones who push people onto the subway tracks! haha. Loved Once Upon a Time (except for Snow White and Prince Charming - I think they could have casted better :) )

    2. I like the snow white casting. I think she's pretty wonderful in some of her moments. Dont' always like the writing for her character though.

Always been a bit confused about their thoughts re Red Riding Hood.

Prince Charming... not quite on board with him. Might not be his fault. coudl be writing or directing. He's not very heroic in "real time" which is annoying.

  20. People!! I feel such a burden on my shoulders now! If you go see Snow White and the Huntsman based on my review and you HATE it, I will feel terrible!!!! However, if you LOVE it (or even like it), I will feel validated! haha!
