Difference of Opinion

It used to be that if someone disagreed with my opinion or something I said I would start to doubt myself and my position.  I would automatically think that the other person was right because everybody was smarter than me.   As I got older I realized that my opinion is just that . . . my opinion.   And someone else's opinion is just that . . . their opinion.   No right.  No wrong.   You can like people who don't agree with you.  You can even love people who don't agree with you.   So glad I figured that out!!   Opinions rock!!

  1. It's really nice when others can just agree to disagree. What's the use of arguing anyway? I'm with you, it was so nice when I realized I was just as right as the other guy.

    1. Arguing is pointless. Discussion is much better :)

  2. the problem arises when someone doesn't want to allow you your opinion

    1. The way I see it, Delores, is that someone can't NOT allow me my opinion :) They can be a stinker about it, but that's what feet are for - - just walk away :)

  3. Judy, opinions rock and so do you! If only everyone with differing opinions, could agree to disagree.

  4. That's a big lesson: it means you have become tolerant and open-minded!

  5. I agree. Unfortunately, I deal with someone on a regular basis who thinks that his opinion is the only opinion. *sigh*

  6. I've been saying that for years: It's just a difference of opinion. I've grown weary of the obnoxious battles on Facebook, esp. over politics. "I'm right, you're wrong, you're an idiot". That stuff makes me sad. If I don't agree w/ something on my newsfeed, I click 'hide story'. It's that simple.

    2. Me too. I have several people that I "hide". Wish I could just unfriend them, but they're FAMILY! Sometimes silence is the safest route. :-)

    2. Hope you didn't get in trouble or that no one thought you were looking at weird fetishes or something on your computer.

  8. Judy...I am giggling because this reminded me of what my Grammy used to say "opinions are like *insert inappropriate word here*, everyone has one!!" I used to just keel over laughing every time I would hear her say that, especially the bad word!

    Happy Day!
    Love,

  9. So totally agree that we can all have our own opinions and still like each other, even if we disagree with our opinions. They need to teach that in school at an early age I think :)

  10. It's a hard lesson, but I'm trying to learn it. Even though I think I'm right all the time.

    Because I'm secretly Batman.

  11. its what makes horse racing, no wait, that isnt how it goes ... it makes the world go round .. no, that isnt it ... all kidding aside, it really would be a dull world if everyone had the same opinion .. however it would be a more peaceful place

  12. I tried to explain this concept to my husband when we were first married, but he kept coming back to two different opinions can't both be right. He's mellowed with age and now see things my way. So...I guess I was right and he was right!
