Killing Time

Thursday = Ponder.   With a purpose.   My mind keeps going to just one phrase.   And one phrase only.   Killing time = time killer.    I am thinking about the time when I am ready to wrap up this life.    I am wondering if I will be wishing that I had "just a little more time."  Just a little more time with my family, just a little more time to tell them I love them.   Just a little more time to DO something.   And I hope I don't think back to all the times when I killed time, when I was an actual time killer.   Knowing that THOSE were the times that I could have been doing something, the times when I could have gone to that dance with my husband, even though I hate to dance, just to be with him.   The time when, instead of telling my children "Not now, I don't have time," I would drop what I was doing just to be with them.

I don't want to be a time killer.   I want to be a time grabber!

  1. Someone once said that by definition to kill time is to murder it. Hum. There's wasting time and killing time and relaxing and doing too much and we need a balance. I too hope I will not regret how I spent my time.

    1. That was my one thought - - murdering time. I think that's probably the same thing as wasting time. I waste way too much time. I think I need to reevaluate.

    1. I need to learn how to seize time instead of letting it slip away :)

    1. Ah, that is an awful thought! If I had all the money I have wasted throughout my life, I could retire at this very moment. What a depressing thought! haha

    1. That darn C word. So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I think there are few people who haven't been touched by it.

  8. Jack won a quarter at religious ed for knowing that the 6th commandment was "Thou Shalt Not Kill." Not sure what Moses would have to say about killing too much time in front of my blog.

On the plus side, I did get in a game of Uno w/ the wee ones. That's gotta count for something, righ?

    Moe?

  10. This was a great thought, Judy, and I so agree. It is said, and I have found it true, that as we get older we regret what we haven't done far more than what we have. I would love to take back some of those wasted moments that might have made precious memories, to put down the dishtowel long enough to dance in the rain, etc. Your post is a good reminder to make time for those we love!
